The scattered-flowered forget-me-not ( Myosotis sparsiflora ), also called loose-flowered forget-me-not , is a species of the forget-me-not genus ( Myosotis ) within the predatory family (Boraginaceae).

description

The scattered-flowered forget-me-not is an annual herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 10 to 30, rarely up to 40 centimeters. The stem is slack, prostrate or ascending, fresh green, sparsely hairy, angular and fragile. The leaves are spatulate, 2 to 6 inches long and 0.5 to 1.5 inches wide.

The flowering period is from April to May. Usually about 7 (3 to 13) flowers are in very loose, double coils, each coil has two to three leaf-like bracts. The flower stalks stretch after the anthesis from 1 to 3 to 6 to 8 millimeters in length and bend back. The hermaphroditic flowers are radial symmetry and five-fold with a double flower envelope . The short corolla tube is white, its edge is pink and it later turns sky blue.

The cup is open at the fruit time. The fruit is greatly enlarged, the Klausen each have a white oil body.

The flowering period is April to June.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 18.
