Zhaojue

Zhaojue ( Chinese 昭觉 县 , Pinyin Zhāojué Xiàn ; Yi: Juojjop ꏪꐦ) is a district of the Liangshan Autonomous District of the Yi in the southwest of the Chinese province of Sichuan . It has an area of 2,699 km² and has a population of 210,000 (2002). Its main town is the large community of Xincheng (新 城镇).
The Boshenwahei rock pictures ( Boshenwahei yanhua博什瓦 黑 岩画) have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-855) since 2006 .
