The Zierliche snowdrop ( Galanthus gracilis ) is a plant from the genus of the snowdrop ( Galanthus ) in the family of Amaryllidaceae family (Amaryllidaceae).
features
The dainty snowdrop is a perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 6 to 10 (12) centimeters. This geophyte forms an onion as a persistence organ. The simple leaves lie flat against each other before they unfold, have a width of 0.3 to 1.2 (2.2) centimeters, are often twisted, upright and almost like grass-shaped. The tips of the inner bracts are slightly bent back.
The flowering period extends from February to May.
Occurrence
The dainty snowdrop occurs in Bulgaria , north-east Greece , on Samos , in east Romania , in south-west Ukraine and in west Turkey in pine and deciduous forests as well as in montane forest clearings in short grass at altitudes of (10) 1600 ( 2000) meters ahead. The dainty snowdrop has grown wild locally in Germany, either by escaping from culture or by anointing .

The dainty snowdrop is rarely used as an ornamental plant in rock gardens.
