The Zimmermann-Graeff & Müller GmbH (short ZGM ) is a Rhineland-Palatinate winery .

The wines are sold in over 35 countries in the grocery trade, the export share is approx. 50%. The winery is supplied with grapes from around 1,000 winemakers in Rhineland-Palatinate . ZGM achieves an annual turnover of 168 million euros (2015), it employs around 285 people, including 26 trainees. The company is based in Zell an der Mittelmosel .

history

The company was founded in 1886 by Jacob Zimmermann, the great-great-grandfather of today's managing partners Tina Schiemann and Dominik Hübinger. In 1992 the Ewald Theod winery. Drathen from Alf (Mosel) taken over. In 1998 Zimmermann-Graeff merged with the Rudolf Müller company from Reil and founded the Zimmermann-Graeff & Müller (ZGM) group of companies. In the same year, the Michel Schneider company, a winery founded in 1869, was taken over. In 2008 ZGM bought the Moselkellerei Weinbund and one year later took over the Lorch winery from Bad Bergzabern (Palatinate) with the attached wine press. In addition to the takeover of Lorch, ZGM also entered into a cooperation with the St. Paul winegrowers' association, which has been supplying Lorch with grapes for a long time. In 2010 the construction of the new administration building in Zell-Barl will begin, which will be available for the company's 125th anniversary in 2011.

Since June 2011, the former managing partner of ZGM, Johannes Huebinger, has been the new chairman of the Federal Association of German Wineries and Specialist Wine Traders (VdWK).

At the beginning of 2013, Johannes Huebinger retired from active management and took over the chairmanship of the newly established corporate advisory board. The tasks were entrusted to Tina Schiemann, Dominik Hübinger and the long-time managing director Hans-Josef Esch. In 2016, son-in-law Kristian Schiemann joined the management.

Wines

In addition to wines from traditional European wine-growing regions such as Germany , Italy and Spain , ZGM also markets wines from the so-called “ New World ”. For example, wines from Australia , Chile , South Africa and California .

ZGM is represented on the German market with the Palatinate wines from Michel Schneider and Lorch, and with Moselle wines under the Peter & Peter brand.

Further products

Besides the traditional wine business ZGM filled for some time, so-called flavored wine-based drinks such as mulled wine or ready-to-drink - cocktails based on wine as " Hugo ".

Since December 2013, the company's range has been supplemented by non-alcoholic beverages . Here ZGM acts as a licensee of the brands Hello Kitty , the Smurfs and Star Wars . Further brands of the licensor Disney have been part of the range since March 2016.
