Zirve (tr. For: "top" ) is Demet Akalın's sixth studio album . It is named after the song of the same name and was released on April 26, 2010. According to the record company Seyhan Müzik, the album was originally due to be released on April 23, 2010. Due to flight restrictions after the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano , the release date had to be postponed to April 26, 2010.

In creating the album, Akalın worked again with numerous music producers and songwriters, including Ersay Üner, Gökhan Şahin, Ceyhun Çelikten and Yıldız Tilbe. Together with the singer Ziynet Sali she produced the song Bozuyorum Yeminimi , which was written by Yıldız Tilbe and recorded by Bülent Özdemir.

The album had around 83,000 to 100,000 units sold after its release. It is one of the most successful and best-selling albums of 2010 in Turkey.

The album is divided into dance hits and slow hits as well as a bonus track. Of the total of seventeen songs, ten were recorded and produced as dance hits and six as slow hits. The song Umutsuz Vaka , recorded in a duet with the rapper Fatman Scoop , is included as a bonus track. During the creation and production, Akalın worked with numerous songwriters and producers, including Ersay Üner , Yıldız Tilbe , Gökhan Şahin, Ceyhun Çelikten, Erhan Bayrak, Tan Taşçı and many more.

Zirve includes u. a. the song Bozuyorum Yeminimi , which was re-recorded and recorded by Akalın and Ziynet Sali, as well as the interpretation Dayan Yüreğim sung by Yıldız Tilbe from her album Aşkperest from 1996, which was also re-recorded. The majority of the album consists of pop music and electronic; but it also contains elements of folk and country.

Singles

Tecrot

The lead single Tecrübe (tr. For: "Experience" ) was released on April 19, 2010 in Turkey. The song reached number 2 in the top 20 charts. Numerous Turkish radio stations selected Tecrübe as the “most popular song of 2010”; the song also achieved high positions in the radio charts.

The music video, which is said to have cost Akalın 40,000 Turkish Lira, was shot under the direction of Topman Topçu. Due to differences in content, Akalın refused to publish the video. Together with director Tamer Aydoğdu, she recorded a second video that was first broadcast on May 1, 2010 on Kral TV . Tecrübe and the music video reached number 10 in the Kral TV Top 20 charts on May 8, 2010, rose to 6th place after six weeks and finally reached number one after another week.

Evli, Mutlu, Çocuklu

The second single Evli, Mutlu, Çocuklu (tr. For: "Married, happy, with children" ) was released on May 27, 2010. The music video was first broadcast on Turkish television on the same day by Kral-TV. The video was directed by Eyup Dirlik; Gökhan Şahin wrote the lyrics and Ceyhun Çelikten composed the music.

The song reached number 8 in the Turkish Top 20 charts and first and second place on a number of radio stations, including Radyo Aktif, Radyo Hitmix, Best FM and İstanbul FM .

Çanta

Çanta (tr. For: "bag" ) was released on July 12, 2010 as the third release of the album. The Turkish producer and songwriter Tan Taşçı wrote the lyrics and recorded the song.

In the Turkish chart, Çanta took third place. On numerous radio stations, the song was able to achieve first and second place. Other stations, including Radyo Klas and Radyo Tatlıses , voted the song in third or fourth place.

Bozuyorum Yeminimi

The song Bozuyorum Yemini (tr. For "I break my vow" ) is the fourth single on the album and was presented on September 23, 2010 by the music label Seyhan Müzik. The original song is from 1995 by the singer Hazal. Akalın reinterpreted the song in collaboration with Ziynet Sali . The singer and songwriter Yıldız Tilbe wrote the lyrics for the song and was also involved in its production.

The music video was directed by Sedat Doğan; Akalın wrote the script himself under the guidance of İşın Karaca. After being published in the media, Bozuyorum Yeminimi reached # 1 on Kral TV , İstanbul FM and Olay FM. Other radio stations voted the song third, fourth and fifth. In the Turkish top 20 charts, the song was able to place at number 19.

Umutsuz Vaka

The song Umutsuz Vaka (tr. For: "Hopeless case" ) was released on January 3, 2011 as a single. The music video was released on the same day by Kral TV.

The album contains three versions of the song:

The first version of the song is a single version and is sung by Akalın. The third version is included as a bonus track and was created in collaboration with the US rapper Fatman Scoop . It mainly contains elements of pop, electronic and folk. The station Kral TV chose the song in seventh place. In the Turkish charts, however, Umutsuz Vaka could not achieve a placement.

Olacak Olacak

Olacak Olacak (tr. For: "It will be" ) is the sixth and final single from the album Zirve . It was produced by Erdem Kınay and edited as a radio single on December 10, 2010. On February 7, 2011, Olacak Olacak was officially released as a single. The music video, which was created by the director Müjdat Küpşi and shot in Bursa , was released on the same day.

The song became a huge hit after its release. It achieved first place in some radio charts such as PowerTürk FM and Radyo Viva. In the Turkish top 20 charts Olacak Olacak reached number 2 and in the Euro Airplay charts for three weeks number 89.
