Rekor (tr. For: "record" ) is the eighth studio album by Demet Akalın . It was named after the song of the same name and was released on April 23, 2014. Rekor is Akalın's last album to be released under the Seyhan Müzik label.
During the production of the album, Akalın worked again with numerous producers and songwriters, including the Turkish-Dutch DJ and producer Burak Yeter , the music producer Erdem Kınay , Emrah Karaduman , Ersay Üner , Fettah Can , Gökhan Özen , Gökhan Şahin, İdo Tatlıses and many more.
According to the Turkish media company D&R , Rekor is one of the albums that has seen high sales within three weeks. The company added the music album to the list of best-selling albums. In the iTunes charts it reached number 1 on the Turkish album charts. Akalın received numerous awards and nominations for Rekor , including a Trafik Güvenliği Medya Award for the song Nasip Değilmiş and Altın Kelebek for the song Rekor .

The album contains fifteen songs and a remix version. A remix of the song Vur Getsin Beni was created, which was produced by İdo Tatlıses. Rekor runs for an hour and nine minutes and contains influences from pop and electronic pop music; but it also contains elements of folk and country pop.
Five of the total of sixteen songs appeared as single releases. The most successful song on the album is İlahi Adalet , which was released on April 30, 2014 and reached number 2 in the Turkish Top 20 charts.
In the individual songs, Akalın mainly deals with topics such as love, feelings, separation, pain and life in general.
Singles
The single İlahi Adalet (tr. For: "Divine Justice" ) was released on April 30, 2014, seven days after the album was released, from the Seyhan Müzik label in Turkey. The song reached second place in the top 20 charts. Gökhan Özen and producer Erdem Kınay were involved in the production of the song, who with Akalın 2012/2013 singles Rota , Emanet and Yalnız Ordusu and which later appeared on Kınay's albums Proje and Proje 2 . İlahi Adalet has a total running time of four minutes and eleven seconds. Müjdat Küpsi directed the music video. The preparations lasted about two days; the video was shot within fourteen hours. The Spanish male model Lucas Garcez made a guest appearance in the music clip.
Other songs that appeared as singles from the album are Rekor , Koltuk , Nefsi Müdafaa and Yeminim Var . The fourth single Nefsi Müdafaa was released on December 8, 2014 and was created in a duet with Gökhan Özen . In return from İlahi Adalet, the other songs could not be placed in the top 20 charts.
