Zofia Atteslander (born March 13, 1874 in Luborzyca near Miechów , † around 1928 ) was a Polish painter, 1889 to 1928 a. a. active in Berlin , Paris and Wiesbaden .

Life

She initially studied in Cracow with Jacek Malczewski , then in Munich with Franz von Lenbach , Heinrich Knirr and Stanisław Grocholski , and from 1902 in Dachau with Adolf Hölzel . She mainly devoted herself to portrait painting and still life.

During her stay in Wiesbaden in 1904, she created the portraits of the Romanian royal family. Zofia Atteslander was an early member of the German Association of Artists . Your name can be found in the list of members in the exhibition catalog for the 3rd DKB annual exhibition in 1906 in the Grand Ducal Museum Weimar .

She later worked in Paris, where she was honored with a mention honorable at the Salon of French Artists in 1908 .

Since 1904 she took part in the exhibitions of the Warsaw Society for the Promotion of Fine Arts , since 1903 in the exhibitions of the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Cracow and Lviv . In addition to oil painting, she also created pastel pictures. She often signed her pictures with “Zo” .
