action

It's Halloween . The two attractive women Jewel, a sporty kickboxer from Puerto Rico , and her friend Lisa decide to visit the mysterious "Museum of Death", an annual event for horror fans, on Saturday evening, which promises a spooky stay on "Day of Death" .

The two women, Lisa is in costumes, then drive to Sunset Boulevard, where the inconspicuous museum with stolen artifacts of a certain Bobin is located. After inserting the coin, which the two women had received together with the party flyer, the metal door of the building opens, they step in and, in search of the few exhibits in the exhibition, explore the complex, labyrinth-like corridor system of the house . Scattered in the aisles, other visitors are also wandering around to view the exhibition with works from early Mexican history, including the exhibited, curse-laden skull of a man-eating Mexican warrior named Tolec, the "Lord of Death". Despite insistent warning not to look into the ruby eyes of the skull, the two women ignore the danger and beam due to a parapsychological phenomenon to another location, probably within the masonry.

There, like other visions-plagued visitors before, they are attacked by a creature that has already been transported and has now mutated into a zombie . The creature succeeds in biting Lisa, consequently infecting her, while Jewel informs the police, seeking help. Lisa soon tries to kill her well-fortified friend, the photographer Jimmy and Midas, a friend from Jewels gym , who has since arrived . The trio succeeds in escaping from the transformed Lisa, the increasing number of zombies and the reincarnation of Tolec by means of more or less arbitrary teleportation in the impenetrable system of dead ends. Jimmy separates from the group again and joins the mysterious McCloud, who wants to steal the art objects and return them to their original owners. From now on the two groups act independently of each other.

When the two summoned police officers Russo and Law encounter Jewel and Midas, this group fights the hive of the undead together with gun violence. But the use of firearms seems hopeless, the well-fed Midas is bitten and has to be liquidated in self-defense. Officer Law is murdered by Tolec a little later. Jewel and the policewoman are forced to fight their way alone until they run into Jimmy and McCloud again. McCloud, who continues to be extremely taciturn, but is very familiar with the system, refuses to cooperate with the team. Nevertheless, he advises them to find the exit from the labyrinth immediately, as it is only open until sunset.

At the end of the film, Jewel, McCloud and Officer Russo do this separately, while Jimmy is killed. In the last scene of the film, Russo can be seen answering a phone call that she made as an accomplice of the museum owner, Dr. Bobin exposed.

Reviews

The film failed to convince either film critics or audiences at the time and was regarded as one of the worst horror films of the year. Here are some examples of reviews:

"Cheap horror borrowed from the classics of the slasher genre that sinks in rivers of blood."

"Amazingly well-choreographed battle scenes for a low-budget update of 'Waxwork' are served by this spartan but heartfelt carnage (also figuratively) with borrowings from the classic zombie film as well as from latex monster bloodbaths a la Demoni . The Dudelson siblings ( Morella ) are responsible for a crude, but by no means boring horror spectacle that will break open doors, at least for Splatterhardliners. "

“Commercial horror menagerie turns out to be a manger for Aztec demons. Crude but entertaining low-budget horror spectacle. "
