Zombies 2 - The Musical , or Zombies 2 for short , is an American musical - TV film released by the Walt Disney Company in 2020 . As in the first part, it was directed by Paul Hoen , the script is again by David Light and Joseph Raso . The film aired on February 14, 2020 in the United States on Disney Channel . A German premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie is planned for autumn 2020.

After a groundbreaking semester , Zed and Addison continue to try to unite their cities and schools into one community. However, a group of werewolves unexpectedly emerges, shaking up the newfound peace of the communities and driving a wedge between Addison and Zed.

On February 11, 2019 it was announced that there would be a sequel to the first part, with the same main cast, scriptwriters and producers. On May 21, 2019, it was announced that Pearce Joza, Chandler Kinney and Ariel Martin had been cast for the film. Filming began on May 27, 2019 and ended on July 15, 2019. In December 2019, it was announced that the film would premiere on February 14 on the US Disney Channel . The official trailer was released on January 10, 2020 on the Disney Channel's YouTube page.

The premiere on February 14, 2020 was watched by 2.46 million people. This was the highest number of viewers the Disney Channel had since the premiere of Descendants 3 - The Descendants on August 2, 2019. On August 7, 2020, the German Disney Channel announced that a German premiere is planned for autumn 2020.
