Zsolt Bálint (born October 26, 1989 in Miercurea Ciuc ) is a former Romanian ice hockey player who was last under contract until 2015 at the ASC Corona 2010 Brașov in the Romanian ice hockey league and the MOL league .

Career

Club

Zsolt Bálint, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Romania , began his career as an ice hockey player with HC Csíkszereda , for whom he made his debut in the Romanian ice hockey league at the age of 16 . In 2009 he and his team won the first edition of the multinational MOL league . Despite this success, the club had to stop playing for financial reasons and Bálint moved to ASC Corona 2010 Brașov , for which he was also on the ice in the Romanian league and the MOL league. With the Kronstadters he became Romanian national champion in 2014 and won the national cup competition in 2013 and 2015 . In 2015 he ended his career.

International

Bálint plays internationally in contrast to other Szeklers who compete for Hungary , for his native Romania . He was already active in the junior division at world championships: he played at the U18 World Championships in Division III in 2006 and in Division II in 2007 and at the U20 World Championships in Division II in 2007 , 2008 and 2009 .

With the men's national team , he only took part in the 2011 World Cup , when he was promoted to Division I, in Division II.
