Future Prize (Initiative Forum Zukunft)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ZUKUNFTSPREIS of the CDU- related initiative Forum Zukunft has been awarded annually since 1997. Until 2005 it was the future award of the Christian-Democratic workforce . The honor is given to personalities who, through their vita, their work and their personal success, promote the dialogue between business, politics and society in an outstanding way. There is no prize money.

The initiative will publicly announce the nomination of the prize. The award ceremony takes place during a ceremony in the former Bundestag in Bonn . Sponsors contribute to the financing of the prize.

The award received greater public attention when the already publicly nominated award winner Josef Ackermann declared that he would forego the award. His nomination in the context of the banking crisis was previously criticized by both the opposition in North Rhine-Westphalia and Chancellor Angela Merkel .
