To the crucified Savior is a chapel with the patronage of the crucifixion of Christ in Gersbach . It belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of St. Nikolaus (Mitteleschenbach) in the Herrieden dean's office of the Eichstätt diocese .

The chapel was built in 1836. It was a pilgrimage chapel in the parishes of Ornbau , Arberg , Großenried and Herrieden . It was renovated in 2001 and 2002.

The chapel is a massive gable roof building. The walls are plastered. A bell tower is planted on the south side as a roof turret. It has two axes of arched windows on the west and east sides. On the south side it has a round arch portal, above it a wooden crucifix and in the gable an ox eye.

The hall has a flat ceiling inside with a painting of the Lamb of God in the center and four smaller paintings in the corners. On the north side it has a high altar with an altarpiece, which is supported by two columns and in the middle shows a painting of the crucified Jesus, at his feet two small wooden statues. On the wall to the left of the altar is a wooden statue of St. Willibald attached, on the right a wooden statue of St. Walburga . On the east, south and west side small paintings depict the Way of the Cross . In the hall there are four rows with wooden benches as seating.
