Zunyi ( 遵义 县 , Zūnyì Xiàn ) was a district that belonged to the administrative area of the prefecture -level city of Zunyi in the southern Chinese province of Guizhou . It had an area of 4,104 square kilometers and had about 1.21 million inhabitants in 2012. In 2015 it was dissolved.
The 2000 population census showed a total population of 1,243,193 people in 323,302 households, of which 648,257 were men and 594,936 women. At that time the district consisted of 33 large communities and two nationality communities.

The seat of the county government was in the Nanbai Parish .
In 2015, Zunyi County was dissolved. The area originally administered by him was divided into the newly established Bozhou district and the Honghuagang and Huichuan districts that already existed at that time .
Culture
The Niutitang Faunal Community (Niutitang dongwuqun 牛 踢 塘 动物 群) was discovered in the district's Songlin community .
