To user uploads a house in Flensburg city with the address Great Road No. 65.. Rococo - facade of the building belongs to the cultural monuments of the city.

background

The house "Zur Börse" was originally not a stock exchange , as could be assumed, but a former restaurant with this name, of which only the old facade from the 18th century has been preserved. The actual house is a new building in which the aforementioned facade has been integrated. The historical gable front, with richly designed gable ornamentation, bears the number 1788 and the inscription "Zur Börse" above the first floor. In 1897, master mason Chr. Henningsen redesigned the original building facade for a newly furnished restaurant, including the passage to the courtyard, which had been built over in 1885. A balustrade is located in the gable area above this side extension on the south side .

In the mid-1990s, the neighboring buildings on the south side of the building were demolished. In 1994/95 a somewhat larger replacement development was built there, in which Allianz insurance initially settled. The Zur Börse building was demolished at the same time, with the facade left standing, as mentioned. Then the property with the new house was built on, the facade was integrated and the lower facade area, which had previously been redesigned for a shop , was reconstructed. The former Utlucht on the right side of the facade was also reconstructed. On the left side of the building, a connection to a new, open, higher courtyard with parking spaces was created, through which, for example, the Catholic Church or the Flensburg Lodge House can be reached more quickly.

For many years, the fantasy shop Gandalph was located in the lower area of the building , which has since moved to the commercial building Große Straße 39/41. In the upper area of the building there is a ballet school and in the lower area there is a shoe shop . Nowadays there is a Cafe Extrablatt in the neighboring Allianz office building . The old building facade has recently been placed under monument protection for historical, artistic and urban development reasons .
