This famous text appeared in the Franco-German Yearbooks in 1844 . In this criticism of the “German conditions”, Marx starts out from religion , which he describes as the “ opium of the people ” (with which he sharpened a formulation by Heinrich Heine ). But in the sense of emancipation , beyond a “criticism of heaven”, a “criticism of politics” is necessary for Marx, which cannot be made through philosophy alone, but only through the action of the proletariat class .
At the end of his introduction, Marx counters Hegel's image of philosophy as the “ owl of Minerva ”, which “only begins its flight with the onset of twilight”, with the “blaring of the Gallic rooster ” through which “when all internal conditions are met are ", the" German resurrection day "is proclaimed.
