Occurrence

Detail of the flowers

The distribution of Radiola linoides extends across Europe to the montane regions of Africa. The species is rarely found in Germany. By eutrophication stocks go back increasingly soil, intensive agriculture, elimination of small-scale wetland sites and coastal protection and therefore lack of coastal dynamics. It is classified as critically endangered on the red list of endangered vascular plants in Germany. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania it is threatened with extinction.

The dwarf predominantly populates short-lived muddy soil pioneer corridors and can be found in moist, temporarily flooded fields, on the banks of periodically dry waters and in temporarily disturbed, damp ruderal areas. The plant is considered in Central Europe as Kennart the Association Ranunculo-Radioletum linoidis and also has a major presence in the association Cicendietum filiformis. So he is a character species of the Nanocyperion association.
