Ultimate Victory is the second solo studio album from Chamillionaire. The album was originally scheduled to be released on March 27, 2007, but that date was pushed back to September 18, 2007.

History

Guests on the album are Adam Jenkins, UGK, Krayzie Bone, Lil' Wayne, Slick Rick, Tony Henry, Famous, and Devin The Dude. Chamillionaire announced that his first official single off Ultimate Victory is "Hip Hop Police" featuring Slick Rick. The track was produced by Jonathan Rotem. "Hip Hop Police" leaked to the Internet on June 18, 2007. Chamillionaire's single "Hip Hop Police", and his follow up "The Evening News", are available on iTunes. Chamillionaire will release music videos in sequential order to make it seem like a movie.[1] The first video, "Hip Hop Police", was premiered in full, along with "Evening News", on July 26th on BET Access Granted. An exclusive interview with Chamillionaire is available on Associated Content.[2]

The next single, "The Bill Collecta" featuring Bone Thugs-N-Harmony member Krayzie Bone, was released on September 18th, 2007 but can be heard on Chamillionaire's MySpace page.

Recently he put up 16 songs including the two skits on his myspace. The songs not included are Standing Ovation, Wont Let You Down, Ultimate Victory and the two bonus tracks.Best cd of 2007.getem cham.the realist!!! [3]

Chamillionaire kept the album relatively clean (no swearing) and 'N-Word' free, hence the absence of a Parental Advisory logo on the album cover.[4]

On September 14, 2007, Chamillionaire, Famous and Slick Rick appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and performed "Hip Hop Police." On September 18, 2007, Chamillionaire, Famous, and Slick Rick appeared on Total Request Live and performed "Hip Hop Police".

Critical Reception

Ultimate Victory was very well-received by many critics. Rolling Stone highly praised the title track stating, "“The Ultimate Victory” -- on which Cham expresses sympathy for media-dogged celebs like Eminem and Britney and admits, “I'm still filled with doubt” -- might be the most personally reflective hip-hop track since Slim Shady himself stepped to the mike." All Music Guide said that it is "a positive outlook for the future of the genre." Allhiphop.com praised his lyricism, stating, "Chamillionaire's flow and lyricism is rampant through each track on Ultimate Victory." Sputnikmusic acknowledged that the album was a "cohesive and complete album in the world of Southern rap." Sixshot declared "“The Ultimate Victory” is the biggest thing to come out of Texas since the space shuttle."
