(10007) Malytheatre is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on December 16, 1976 by the Russian astronomer Lyudmila Ivanovna Tschernych at the branch of the Crimean Observatory ( IAU code 095) in Nautschnyj .

The asteroid was named on January 6, 2007 after the Maly Theater (Small Theater) founded in 1756 as the Peter Theater , the oldest theater in Russia, which received its current name in 1776 to distinguish it from the Bolshoi Theater (Great Theater). The name was given because of the 250th anniversary of the theater in 2006.
