(1004) Belopolskya is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on September 5, 1923 by the Russian astronomer Sergei Ivanovich Beljawski at the Crimean Observatory in Simejis .
The asteroid was named after the Russian astrophysicist Aristarch Apollonowitsch Belopolski .
