(11212) Tebbutt is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 18 April 1999 by the Australian amateur astronomer Frank B. Zoltowski from his private observatory ( IAU code 426) in Woomera was discovered from.

The asteroid was named on October 13, 2000 after the Australian astronomer John Tebbutt (1834-1916), whose name is associated with the Great Comets of 1861 and 1888 and who observed the Venus transit of 1874.
