(1201) Strenua is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 14, 1931 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth in Heidelberg .
The name is derived from the Latin wordstruus , which stands for diligent and careful. Virtues for which the German astronomer Gustav Stracke should be honored, who had asked that no asteroid should be named after him.
