(12580) Antonini is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 8, 1999 by the French astronomer Laurent Bernasconi at the observatory in St. Michel sur Meurthe ( IAU code 164) in the canton of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges-Ouest .
The asteroid was named on July 26, 2000 after the French amateur astronomer Pierre Antonini .
