(13085) Borlaug is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 23 April 1992 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.

On December 2, 2009, the asteroid was named after the American agronomist Norman Borlaug (1914–2009), who was the main initiator of the so-called Green Revolution in developing countries and who saved millions of people from starvation and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 .
