(1446) Sillanpää is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered in Turku on January 26, 1938 by the Finnish astronomer Yrjö Väisälä .

The name of the asteroid is reminiscent of the Finnish writer and Nobel Prize winner Frans Eemil Sillanpää .
