(14967) Madrid is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 6 August 1997 by the Spanish astronomers Ángel López Jiménez and Rafael Pacheco at the Planetarium Mallorca ( IAU code 620) in Costitx on the Balearic -Insel Mallorca was discovered.
The asteroid was named on October 13, 2000 after the Spanish capital Madrid , which is the birth and hometown of Rafael Pacheco.
