(157) Dejanira is a main belt asteroid discovered on December 1, 1875 by the French astronomer Alphonse Borrely at the Marseille Observatory.
The asteroid was named after Deianira , the Greek mythology after a daughter of the king of Aitolia , known for her beauty .
