(1798) Watts is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 4 April 1949 by astronomers of the Indiana Asteroid Program at Goethe Link Observatory in Brooklyn in the State of Indiana was discovered.
The asteroid is named after the American astronomer and employee of the United States Naval Observatory Chester B. Watts .
