(1954) Kukarkin is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on August 15, 1952 by the Russian astronomer Pelageja Fyodorovna Schain at the Crimean Observatory in Simejis .
The asteroid is named after the Russian astronomer Boris Wassiljewitsch Kukarkin (1909–1977).
