(2254) Requiem ( 1977 QJ 1 ; 1941 QC ; 1959 RG ; 1959 RR ; 1966 PF ; 1972 GS ; 1976 JQ ; 1977 TS 5 ; A916 UB ) is an asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on August 19, 1977 by the Russian astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych was discovered at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095).
designation
(2254) Requiem was named after the mother of the explorer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych, Melaniya Petrovna Tschernych , who died on the day of the discovery.
