(2431) Skovoroda is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on August 8, 1978 by the Russian astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095).

The asteroid was named after the Ukrainian and Russian philosopher , poet , fable poet and singer Gregorius Skoworoda (1722-1794), whose philosophy was influenced by Neoplatonists , stoicism and mysticism and who dealt mainly with biblical topics.
