(29401) Asterix is an asteroid of the main belt . It was discovered on October 1, 1996 by Miloš Tichý and Zdeněk Moravec from the Kleť Observatory ( IAU code 809).
The asteroid is a member of the Koronis family, a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis.
It was named on August 6, 2003 after the cartoon character Asterix ; on the same day an asteroid was named after Obelix with (29402) Obelix .
