(29491) Pfaff is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 23 November 1997 by the American Italo- astronomer Paul G. Comba at Prescott Observatory ( IAU code in 684) Arizona was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the German mathematician Johann Friedrich Pfaff (1765-1825), who dealt with the theory of partial differential equations and made a contribution to the analysis of differential geometry with the Pfaffian forms named after him .
