(30443) Stieltjes is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 3 July 2000 by the American Italo- astronomer Paul G. Comba at Prescott Observatory ( IAU code in 684) Arizona was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the Dutch mathematician Thomas Jean Stieltjes (1856-1894), who was mainly active in the fields of analysis , continued fractions and number theory and who formulated the Stieltjes integral named after him .
