(3834) Zappafrank is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on May 11, 1980 by the Slovak astronomer Ladislav Brožek at the Kleť observatory ( observatory code 046) near the town of Český Krumlov in southern Bohemia .

The asteroid was named after the American composer and musician Frank Zappa (1940-1993), who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
