(4314) Dervan is an asteroid of the main belt , the American US from the 25 June 1979 astronomer Eleanor Helin and scolding John Bus at Siding Spring Observatory (IAU code 413) in Coonabarabran , Australia was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the American chemist Peter Dervan (* 1945), who has taught and researched at the California Institute of Technology since 1973 as a professor (Bren Professor of Chemistry) .
