(4609) Pizarro is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 13 February 1988 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory in Chile was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the Chilean astronomer Guido Pizarro and his brother Oscar , who both work with the discoverer at the La Silla Observatory.
