(4797) Ako is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 30 September 1989 by the Japanese astronomer Toshirō Nomura and Koyo Kawanishi at Minami-Oda Observatory ( IAU code was discovered 374).
The asteroid belongs to the Nysa group, a group of asteroids named after (44) Nysa, which is also known as the Hertha family (after (135) Hertha).
(4797) Ako was named after the city of Akō in the Japanese prefecture of Hyōgo and its historic castle on the Seto Inland Sea .
