(4860) Gubbio is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 3 March 1987 by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station (IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.
The celestial body was named after the city of Gubbio, founded by the Etruscans in the Italian province of Perugia .
