(4982) Bartini is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on August 14, 1977 by the Russian astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095).

The asteroid was named after the Soviet aircraft designer of Italian descent Robert Lyudwigowitsch Bartini (1897–1974), who in 1937 and his colleagues developed the all-metal passenger aircraft Stal-7 , which completed some very successful long -range flight tests .
