(5232) Jordaens is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 14 August 1988 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at de Observatoire Haute-Provence ( Observatories Code 511) in the southeast of France was discovered.

The light curve of (5232) Jordaens was examined from May 2-4, 2016. However, when observing at the Shed of Science Observatory in Minneapolis , the rotation period could not be determined.

The asteroid is named after the Flemish Baroque painter Jacob Jordaens (1593–1678), who was a contemporary of Peter Paul Rubens and is one of the most important history painters of his time. In addition to his paintings, he was also known for his tapestry designs.
