(5405) Neverland is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 11 April 1991 by the Japanese astronomer Yoshio Kushida and Osamu Muramatsu on Yatsugatake South Base Observatory ( observatory code 896) in Hokuto in the Japanese prefecture of Yamanashi was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the fictional island of Neverland, the main setting of James Matthew Barrie's children 's stories about Peter Pan .
