(6826) Lavoisier is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 26 September 1989 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory ( IAU code was discovered 809).
The asteroid was named after the French chemist Antoine Laurent de Lavoisier (1743–1794).
