(72042) Dequeiroz is an asteroid of the Main Belt . He was discovered on December 17th, 2000 by Stefano Sposetti in Gnosca . The discovery was confirmed by the Minor Planet Center. The minor planet moves its orbit around the sun at an average distance of about 350 million kilometers. It takes a little more than three and a half years to circle it. With the name Dequeiroz, the discoverer dedicates the asteroid to the asteroid researcher José De Queiroz .
