Ákos Kovrig (born June 2, 1982 ) is a Hungarian football player . He is currently employed by Szolnoki MÁV FC .

life and career

Kovrig started his career at Kecskeméti TE in his native Hungary. In 2001, at the age of 19, he came to Vasas Budapest where he played for three years. In 2005, the midfielder left the capital city towards Lombard Pápa . In addition to four goals in 14 league games, he also played four games in the UI Cup for the first division team at the time . After six months, Kovrig moved on to Israel to Maccabi Netanja , before joining Hapoel Haifa a month later , from where he returned to his regular club Kecskeméti TE in the summer.

In 2007 he accepted an offer from the Austrian Bundesliga club SV Mattersburg . He made his debut for Burgenland on July 11, 2007 in a 2-1 win against SV Ried . Kovrig came on in the 89th minute for Thomas Wagner . In January 2009, his contract with the Mattersburgers was canceled. In June 2009 it was announced that Kovrig is moving to Szolnoki MAV FC in their home country.
