Álder Escobar Forero

Álder Escobar Forero (born March 11, 1977 in Colombia ) is a Colombian chess player .

He won the Colombian individual championship in 2007 in Cartagena . He played for Colombia at five Chess Olympiads : 2006 to 2012 and 2016 . He also took part in the Pan American Team Championships (2008 and 2010).

At the Chess World Cup 2019 in Khanty-Mansiysk he failed in the first round to Leinier Domínguez .

In 1997 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM). He was awarded the title of Grand Master (GM) in 2014.
