Gildardo García (born March 9, 1954 in Medellín ) is a Colombian chess player .
He was able to win the Colombian individual championship several times. He played for Colombia at eight Chess Olympiads : 1984 to 1992 , 1996 , 1998 and 2006 . He also took part in the Pan American Team Championships five times (1974, 1977, 1998 to 2010).
In 1979 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM). The title of Grand Master (GM) was awarded to him in 2008.
