Ángel Ramiro Pulgar Araujo (born February 7, 1989 in Barquisimeto ) is a Venezuelan cyclist .
Career
Pulgar achieved his first successes on the track. In 2007 he won the silver medal in the junior team sprint there at the Pan American Championships and also finished third in the scratch race as a junior at the World Championships . In 2009 he also won the Clásico Aniversario de la Federación Venezolana de Ciclismo , which he repeated two years later. Since this race had returned to the UCI America Tour calendar in 2011 , his second success there represented his first victory in a race on a UCI calendar . In 2010 he again won a silver medal in the team sprint, now in the elite class the Pan American Championships.
In 2011 and 2013 Pulgar won the gold medal in the team sprint at the Pan American Games together with Hersony Canelón and César Marcano , in 2014 and 2015 the three drivers became Pan American champions in this discipline and won the Central American and Caribbean Games as well as the South American Games in 2014 .
In 2016, Ángel Pulgar was nominated for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and finished eighth in the team sprint with Marcano and Marcano. In 2018 he became the Pan American champion in the Omnium and won the scratch race at the Central American and Caribbean Games .
