South American Games 2018
The 11th South American Games took place from May 26th to June 8th 2018 in Cochabamba , Bolivia . For the second time, Bolivia was the host country of the Games. In 1978 the Games were first played in La Paz .
Award
Bolivia (with Cochabamba) as well as Venezuela ( Puerto La Cruz ) and Peru ( Lima ) applied to host the games. After both Venezuela and Peru withdrew their applications, Cochabamba was unanimously chosen as the venue.

14 countries with a total of 4010 athletes took part in the South American Games. The number in brackets indicates the number of athletes with whom the respective delegation started.
