Central American and Caribbean Games 2018
The 23rd Central American and Caribbean Games took place from July 19 to August 3, 2018 in Barranquilla , Colombia . After 1946, the city hosted the major event for the second time.
Award
The games were initially awarded to the Guatemalan city of Quetzaltenango on October 29, 2012 . In May 2014 Quetzaltenango was withdrawn from the competition. A second round of awards was initiated, at the end of which Barranquilla (Colombia) prevailed against the applications from Panama City (Panama) and Puerto La Cruz (Venezuela).
