Central American and Caribbean Games 1946
The 5th Central American and Caribbean Games took place from December 8th to 28th, 1946 in Barranquilla , Colombia . Cuba was the most successful nation with 29 gold medals ahead of Mexico with 26 gold medals.

13 countries with a total of 1540 athletes took part in the Central America and Caribbean Games. Among them were three debutants: Trinidad and Tobago, the area of Curaçao (the later Netherlands Antilles) and the Dominican Republic.
